🎯 Penetration Testing
We try to break into your systems using the methods of a real attacker to verify how effective your security measures are: can a vulnerability that was found actually be exploited, and how far would the damage spread after an intrusion? The insights feed directly into prioritizing your security investments.
How it works
A penetration test tries to break into your systems using the same methods as an attacker. A vulnerability assessment answers the question “what is vulnerable?” A penetration test shows “what an attacker can actually do and how far they can get.”
We present the results in plain terms for management, so you can decide on priorities and next steps.
- ✦An assessment found vulnerabilities, but you do not know their actual impact
- ✦You want to explain security risks in concrete terms to management or the board
- ✦You want to try out attack scenarios to check how effective your defenses are
- ✦You have invested in security and want to verify that your measures really work
Three types of test
We recommend the type that fits your concerns, goals and budget.
Targeted test
Recommended after an assessmentWe focus the attack on high-risk vulnerabilities found in an assessment: can they actually be exploited, and how far could an attacker get?
- Demonstration of how the targeted vulnerabilities can be exploited
- Assessment of impact and spread after a successful intrusion
- Analysis of how hard exploitation is and under what conditions
- Retest after fixes to confirm the improvement
Scenario-based test
Overall risk pictureWe reproduce the chain of a real attack, for example: phishing, intrusion into the internal network, lateral movement, then theft of sensitive information.
- Scenarios tailored to your industry and organization
- From external intrusion to privilege escalation inside the network
- Social engineering as an option
- Assessment of how your teams detect and respond (optional, with your blue team)
- Report with the attack timeline and step-by-step details
Industry threat-focused test
Using other companies’ findingsWe start from vulnerabilities found at other companies (competitors, peers in your industry, business partners) and from attack techniques trending in your industry, to check in a focused, efficient way whether you face the same risk.
- Starting point: known attack techniques and vulnerabilities in your industry
- Test design based on other companies’ assessment results and incident information
- Quick check for the most serious risks
- Preventive recommendations for similar vulnerabilities
Vulnerability assessment or penetration test?
| Criterion | Vulnerability assessment | Penetration test |
|---|---|---|
| Goal | Find and list vulnerabilities | Show that an intrusion is possible |
| Approach | Broad and comprehensive | Focused and in depth |
| Deliverables | Vulnerability list, priorities, recommendations | Evidence of intrusion, impact simulation, attack timeline |
| When to use it | Regularly, and before going live | After an assessment, on critical systems, before a management decision |
| Recommended order | First (identify baseline risks) | Second (prove and dig deeper) |

How a test runs
Interview and scenario design
We discuss your goals, scope, constraints and the attack scenarios you have in mind, and draw up the rules of engagement (ROE).
NDA and rules of engagement
Scope, prohibited actions, emergency contacts and testing hours are written down and agreed in writing.
Testing
Reconnaissance, intrusion attempts and post-intrusion assessment, step by step. We report any serious issue to you immediately.
Report and debrief
A detailed report on the attack, its results and the level of risk, presented to management and technical teams.
Remediation support and verification
Advice on implementing fixes, followed by a retest once they are in place.
